Body / Skincare

Gentle on the skin, the oil acts as a physical barrier to environmental pollutants, while sealing in moisture. It’s feather-light emollient property provides a soothing, protective barrier without clogging the pores making it excellent for irritated or blemished skin. This oil can be applied direct to the skin, or blended with essential oils for an aromatic body or massage oil.

Haircare

Provides protection against sun’s UV rays & is able to deeply penetrate the hair making it an efficient conditioner. Used regularly the oil improves overall hair health, helps eliminate dandruff & dry scalp problems. For a conditioning treatment, massage a tablespoon into hair roots and leave for 2-3 hours before shampooing.

DIY / Tips

It is colorless, odorless, will not stain or go rancid with age, it makes an ideal base for making up your own blends or perfumes.

Skin Types

Suitable for all skin types. May be used on babies & children. A good ‘all-rounder’ carrier oil.

Nutritional Value

Contains over 80% saturated fats where 45-55% of this is lauric acid which benefits the skin; also rich in caprylic acid & other natural fats, plus squalane & Vitamin E.

Production

Extracted from the dried fleshy part of the coconut called the ‘copra’, which is cold-pressed without the use of solvents.
Virgin coconut oil is the least refined of all the graded oils, but it is solid at cooler temperatures, so the fraction of oil that remains mobile at room temperature can also be poured off to create another product known as ‘light coconut oil’ that is more versatile for cosmetic use.
