A large tree cultivated in tropical and Mediterranean climates. It bears the avocado fruit with a greenish or yellowish flesh with a buttery consistency and rich, nutty taste.
Anti-ageing, antidandruff, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, nourishing, moisturising, wound healing, lubricating, conditioning, lubricating, nourishing, moisturising, conditioning.
Contains a very high concentration of monounsaturated fatty acids (especially oleic acid), Vitamin E & other antioxidants.
It also contains Vitamin A, D, B1 B2,pantothenic acid, lecithin, lutein, chlorophyll & high levels of potassium.
This oil is derived from the flesh (not the kernel) of the fruit which is cold-pressed & filtered without the use of solvents.
By contrast, a chemical extraction process damages the natural fatty acids and significantly reduces the nutritional value of the oil.
A good quality oil should also contain a high proportion of wax.
