Botanical Description

St Johns Wort

A small, shrubby perennial plant with bright yellow flowers, which according to folklore was named after St. John the Baptist. The main active ingredient 'hypericin' is found in the flowers.

The oil has natural healing & anti-inflammatory properties, helping skin to regenerate & heal itself. Applied to existing wounds, scars or stretch marks, it can help reduce scarring. This oil can be applied direct to the skin, or blended with essential oils for an aromatic body or massage oil.

Nutritional Value

The main active ingredient is ‘hypericin’ found in the flowers.
It has plentiful amounts of oleic acid, linoleic acid, as well as palmitic, linolenic and stearic fatty acids.
It also contains Vitamins A B1, B2, B6 & D.

Production

Infused and filtered without the use of solvents, prepared by the maceration of the fresh flower tops in sunflower oil.
The resulting product is an oily extract containing the soluble active ingredient ‘hypericin’, found in the flowers.
As members of The Vegan Society, none of our products are ever tested on animals.

NB: 100ml only supplied in blue glass bottle. Larger quantities supplied in recyclable PET bottles with pump dispenser.
