A perennial hairy shrub with pointed leaves, serrated at the edges and small pink flowers. The whole plant is aromatic. Geranium oil (from the Pelargonium genus) has many sub-species: several of which are used to produce essential oils. The Bourbon oil from Rose Geranium is considered superior than other chemotypes with the highest level of 'linalool'.
